Have you written a short story that has never been published? If so, your book could qualify with Amazon for Kindle singles publication. If your story is between 5,000 and 30,000 words and has a start, a middle and a finish, the Amazon gods may shine on you and give you a publishing breakthrough! Remember, your book has to be approved by a team of editors to qualify for publication on kindle singles.
The kindle singles crew will also consider eBooks that have been recently published on Amazon’s KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing platform).
The advantage of being accepted into the kindle singes platform, is that Amazon promote kindle singles somewhat themselves. It is open to publishing houses as well as self published authors.
Also, if successful, your kindle singles book will be enrolled in Amazon KDP select. That means an exclusive deal to Amazon.

Hi Aishah, thanks for all this great information. Yes I am getting the buzz to follow through with my story to Kindle singles. It appears to be a really creative avenue for those in between books that don’t fit into the ordinary mold.
So onward and upward and continue writing. thanks Amaliah

Hi Amaliah,
It’s a great opportunity, yes for those books that are still complete in their story line but are perhaps considered ‘novellas’. They would otherswise end up in collections or anthologies. People love a cheap, quick read on their reading device on the way to work, on holidays etc. It’s a great opportunity for authors!

What if you have something that’s like a weekly serial? I have a friend journaling travel stories that I could totally see being in demand on Kindle. People would want to get the new one every week as it’s written to keep up with his adventures.

Hi Jessica,
If your friend is journaling, and his travel stories are published on a blog and he is a US citizen, he can have his blog feed published on Amazon and people pay to read the blog on their reader.
Aternatively, he could publish a kindle book every month. As long as he makes the content ‘evergreen’ he could find a following. I would suggest some other forms of promo for this too, such as teasers on a facebook page, twitter, or on a blog.
If he publishes all his writing on a blog and it’s available to be read for free and he publishes as a kindle eBook, he has to be careful as free web content cannot be sold as a kindle eBook, it’s against their terms and conditions.
If you want more info, just ask and I will answer as best I can.
